Format: How the Tournament Works
Eight teams are split into two groups of four. Each side plays the other three in its group once. The top two teams from each group move into the semi-finals, where the Group A winner meets the Group B runner-up and the Group B winner meets the Group A runner-up. The two semi-final winners then play the final on Saturday, 14 November.
Five teams qualified automatically as ACC full members: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Malaysia, Nepal and the UAE earned their places through the 2025 ACC U19 Premier Cup.
U19 Asia Cup 2026 Groups
| Group A | Group B |
|---|---|
| India | Afghanistan |
| Pakistan | Bangladesh |
| UAE | Sri Lanka |
| Nepal | Malaysia |
Group A looks like a straight shootout between India and Pakistan for the top spot, though the UAE showed in 2023 (when they reached the final) that they can upset bigger sides. Group B is the tighter group on paper, with three former champions in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka all chasing two semi-final places.

India U19 Squad for the Asia Cup 2026
The BCCI’s junior selection committee named a 15-member squad on 30 October 2026. Lakshya Raichandani will captain the side, with Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan as his deputy. The squad has drawn plenty of attention for two famous surnames: Aaryavir Sehwag, son of Virender Sehwag, and wicketkeeper Anvay Dravid, son of Rahul Dravid.
India squad: Lakshya Raichandani (captain), Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan (vice-captain), Aaryavir Sehwag, V.K. Vineeth, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid (wicketkeeper), Rajat Baghel (wicketkeeper), V. Yashveer, Aryan Savsani, Mohit Ulva, Kavya Patel, Shavin Vinod, Ishan Sood.
This is a largely fresh group after the cycle that played the 2025 Asia Cup and the 2026 U19 World Cup, so the tournament is as much about finding the next set of India A and IPL prospects as it is about winning the trophy. Losing the last two Asia Cup finals (to Bangladesh in 2024 and Pakistan in 2025) also gives this side a clear point to prove.
Pakistan U19 Squad
Farhan Yousuf, who captained Pakistan to the 2025 title, leads the defending champions again. Shahid Anwar is head coach and team manager.
Pakistan squad: Farhan Yousuf (captain), Abdul Qadir (wicketkeeper), Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Raza, Hamza Zahoor (wicketkeeper), Hasnain Abbas Dar, Hayam Khan, Huzaifa Ahsan, Jahangir Bilal, Mohammad Huzaifa, Mohammad Seyam, Niqab Shafiq, Rizwanullah, Usman Khan.
Other Squads
- Afghanistan: Sohail Khan (captain), Farid Zadran (vice-captain)
- UAE: Ayaan Misbah (captain)
- Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Malaysia: squads yet to be confirmed at the time of writing. We will update this page once they are announced.
India vs Pakistan: The Match Everyone Is Waiting For
The Group A meeting on Sunday, 8 November is the headline fixture of the group stage. Pakistan’s 192-run win in the 2025 final was one of the most one-sided results in the history of this rivalry at junior level, and India’s young side will be desperate to set the record straight. With both sides likely to qualify from Group A, there is also a real chance they meet again in the final on 14 November.
